Poetry in Notion returns to the Solano County Library’s JFK Branch in downtown Vallejo in January 2024. Vallejo’s Co-Poets Laureate Kathleen Herrmann and Jacalyn Eyvonne will host the meeting every second Saturday from noon to 2 PM. The group meets in the program room at 505 Santa Clara in Vallejo.

Poetry in Notion was founded by Dr. Genea Brice, Vallejo’s first poet laureate, in fall 2015. It held its first meeting on September 28, 2015. Dr. Brice hosted the read around group until Vallejo’s second poet laureate D.L. Lang took over in fall of 2017. Lang hosted 19 meetings of the poetry circle until Jeremy Snyder was named Vallejo’s third poet laureate. The pandemic disrupted the community’s ability to hold in person events at the library and other venues shortly after the March 9, 2020 meeting of Poetry in Notion.
Lang also hosted a feature show featuring the poets of Poetry in Notion at the McCune on July 15, 2018, and many regulars from the poetry circle appear in the Verses, Voices, & Visions of Vallejo anthology released in 2019.
