Vallejo Poet Laureate Jeremy Snyder (2020-2023)
Jeremy Snyder served as Vallejo’s Poet Laureate from January 1, 2020 to December 31st, 2023. He hosted Poetry by the Bay from 2018 through 2022, hosting over 100 shows over zoom during the pandemic. His work was published in Verses, Voices & Visions of Vallejo in 2019. During his term as poet laureate, he was a featured performer for many organizations, including the Empress Lounge with musical accompaniment, Beat Poetry Festival, Vallejo Poetry Festival, the Lake County Arts Council, Solano Library Foundation, and the Richmond Arts & Culture Commission. Snyder also hosted shows for Poetry Month at the JFK Library and Alibi Bookshop, was interviewed on the Bloom’s Rooted in Poetry podcast and KZCT radio, and had a piece published by Gnashing Teeth Publishing of Arkansas. Mr. Synder has largely retired from the public eye following his service to the poetry community.
